AIA Virginia partners with the Virginia Building Code Academy

The Virginia Building Code Academy (VBCA) seeks to bring training and education opportunities to the code enforcement community using a variety of resources.  Recently, VBCA had the opportunity to partner with American Institute of Architects (AIA) Virginia to bring training to AIA Virginia members and code officials using a webinar platform. Earlier this week, 20 people logged on to hear the significant code changes to the 2012 building and residential codes presented by VBCA Instructors Ron Clements and Roger Robertson. Given the enthusiasm and success of this first webinar, VBCA and AIA Virginia  intend to continue their partnership and offer a number of additional webinars throughout the 2016 calendar year covering topics of interest to both the design professional and the code official. If you are interested in sharing ideas on specific topics of interest, contact VBCA at vbca@dhcd.virginia.gov.
