The International Code Council is dedicated to developing model codes and standards used in the design, build and compliance process to construct safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures. Most U.S. communities and many global markets choose the International Codes.
This 55,000+ member organization is led by an elected 18-member board of directors. DHCD is extremely proud that two current board members are from Virginia, and another Virginian just completed 10 years of service on this board of directors, including the position of president.
Elected at the Annual ICC Conference earlier this month in Atlantic City were:
Lynn Underwood, Building Official, City of Norfolk – elected to a three-year term on the board of directors
Guy Tomberlin, Building Code Services Manager, Fairfax County – elected to serve as vice president of the International Code Council, after serving a full three-year term on the board
William Dupler, Assistant County Administrator, Chesterfield County – completed his term as past president and 10 years as a board member of the International Code Council. Dupler served two three-year terms and was then elected as an officer. He moved up the chairs and served as secretary and treasurer, vice president, president and immediate past president of the International Code Council.
Thank you gentlemen, for your dedication to the code profession and your willingness to serve. Your leadership is what guides Virginia to the forefront of code development for the United States!
