HUD Training now available online

The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development is pleased to announce that the HUD-required training for the installation of manufactured homes is now available online.

In response to the need of contractors who require this certification for their DPOR license, this course is now available without the need to travel or miss critical tasks on the job.

The cost for contractors is only $50 for the online course, compared to $125 for the classroom training.   The content is the same, but it can be taken at the pace and time most convenient for the student.

As always, government code officials and inspectors can take the course at no cost by signing in with your code academy profile.  The course will describe, in detail, the requirements of installation, so that inspectors will know what to look for in the field.  This may be extremely beneficial to those jurisdictions, which may only occasionally have these homes installed in their jurisdiction.

We hope you will take advantage of this new online training, whether as a contractor, for licensing purposes or as an inspector, for continuing education.

Find the training online at the VBCA Knowledge Center.
